Four students from our studio were selected in February to represent the Southeast Iowa region including Burlington, Ottumwa, Mt. Pleasant, Fort Madison and Washington at the State Iowa Music Teachers Auditions held on the Iowa State University campus at Ames on March 17th.  Each student had already won at the district level for their age group based on their performance of three memorized pieces from the state syllabus, technic requirements, and theory examinations.
They are:
Jillian Goff (age 9 and under)
Lara Kliewer (age 10-11)
Madeline Hora (age 14-15)
Kaylee Hershberger (age 16-17)
Now here are the state results:  All four students earned I ratings at the state level.
Additionally, Kaylee Hershberger, Level E (age 16-17) was named alternate.  This is a huge honor!  Out of a class of nineteen top notch pianists in the state of Iowa at level E, two were named winner and two were named alternate.  It is the first time a level E student from our studio has achieved an alternate award at state!
Congratulations on your achievements!   Thank you for your hard work and dedication and to your families for their unwavering support.  It could not happen without all these factors.
